STUDENT WIFI - TIPS AND TRICKS

To login to the WHS Student Network;

BROWSER

Chrome is the ONLY supported WHS browser.

PROFILE

You must be logged in using your WHS Student Profile and you must have Sync enabled.

NETWORK and NETWORK Sign In

You must be logged in to the “WHS-Student” network.

Once you have connected via WiFi you must login via the Linewize portal (this is like when you go to the airport or a hotel and you connect to their network but you can’t do anything until you login via a login page).

The Linewize login page is:   login.linewize.net

Use your school credentials to login in.

Choose the option to “Save this device” so that you don’t need to visit the linewize login page each day.

MOVING AROUND THE SCHOOL

If you have issues with staying connected within the school you may find that the issue happens as you move around the building. Your laptop needs to connect to the nearest Wireless Access Point but might not have recognised you moved (and is still trying to connect to the Access Point on the other side of the building).

If you were connected fine, then move to another class and can’t connect - turn your WiFi off, wait a few seconds and switch it on again.

OTHER THINGS TO CHECK

Software Updates:  You need to make sure your software updates are all up to date. You need to do this at home at night.

VPN’s:  The use of VPN’s are prohibited on the school network. Our filtering system detects VPN’s and put the device into quarantine off the network for 5 minutes at a time. If you do not uninstall the VPN you may find your device perpetually quarantined.

Anti-Virus: Ensure that your antivirus software does not have the security browser enabled.
